Made In China

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN

Made in China is a Chinese dim-sum restaurant in Gothenburg, where the “shared food” concept encourages you to enjoy Chinese food without the formality of fine dining.

The restaurant, located in an area historically known as home to the labor force movement, is a building from 1976 and local users originally as a warehouse.

Rather than designing a “typical” outside-of-China Chinese restaurant, the interior emphasizes a more industrial feeling with raw and minimal selectivity of materials and color choices. New walls are in dark gray lime plaster and the existing structure is kept its original state and only been highlighted in a dark gray shade. All furniture is made of solid oak and untreated black steel. The exception is the mural, with an expression inspired by revolutions China but a local motif – the shipyard and its workers.
